Can you tell us about your work, when did you start creating?
I started “creating” as early as I have a memory of my life. I remember when I was really young my Dad used to work in the newspaper printing factory, He would bring home tons of paper for me to draw on. I like drawing and cooking so I started doing both at a very young age. But I didn’t study illustration until I was 29 years old.
I think that’s the time I took drawing and illustrating very seriously and I’ve never stopped creating since. I only take time off during the Christmas period because I’m a mother of one and I’m usually too busy cooking and feeding everyone at home during that time.

How would you describe your home decor style?
I naturally draw things that are very colorful and bold. I love everything old and vintage and love bohemian style of home decor as well. I don’t know if I ever have home decor style but I really love collecting old fashion signs and things and they have to be colorful as well.
Color is my soul and it’s so important for me. I wish I could decorate my home a bit more, but sadly I live in a rental flat and I don’t think my landlord would be too happy about that.

What inspires you when you get in a rut?
Color, food and anything that cheers me up! I find myself doing my best creating when I’m happy and relaxed. If I’m really stuck I will just stop everything and go on Pinterest to look at new color palettes or new recipes and food trend.
Sometimes I go to my back garden and talk with the flowers I grow or sometime I would just have a warm bath with my favorite bath bomb. I find these are my favourite things to spark my creative juice!

What colors do you enjoy using in your art the most and why?
I love pink, red, yellow and turquoise. Pink is my favorite color. I feel pink makes me feel happy and joyful. Red is a popping color and is full of energy, I like yellow because it makes me feel full of energy.
I live in Edinburgh, Scotland and the weather here is very gloomy so seeing yellow color makes me feel happy, energised and fun. I like to use turquoise because it goes well with pink and yellow and it’s my daughter’s favorite color, it reminds me of her.
Where do you create most of your work, what is your space like?
My work space is a little cubby hole in my kitchen. It’s probably the warmest spot in my house and I love to fill it every morning with coffee and freshly baked pastry smell.
It’s also right next door to my garden so when I’m tired or want to have a break I bring my coffee to the garden just stand there for 5 minutes and have a sip of coffee and enjoy the peace and sun (if there’s any!).
Name 3 crafters, artists or designers that you follow and love their work…
I love Felicita Sala picture book and food illustrations. I also love the work of Marc Boutavant. I watch a lot of Marc with my daughter and we love his other book as well. The characters he illustrate are so charming and cute and the way he use colours in his work is phenomenal.
I love illustrations by Asa Gilland. Her work is so charming, beautiful and playful! I think she did a spot on job to combine her western background with eastern culture influence.
For the crafters, I like Twinkie Chan crochets food art, scarves and everything. Every time I see her crochet projects they make me feel so happy. Probably because I’m a big foodie and I like food inspired art or craft.
What are your favorite items decorating your home and why?
The first item would be a pink wooden suitcase I bought from Oliver Bonas a few years ago for my degree show. I love the color, the design and the old, rustic finishing and the floral pattern inside are so cute. I really love Oliver Bonas’s furniture as they are so colourful and cute.
My second favorite item would be my retro ice cream wall light because it’s cute and fun.
