I have heard about Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens and Nursery from folks many times in the past few years and finally decided to go check it out with my husband, it was a wonderful drive up to Fallbrook, California up the 15 freeway.
Their website is: www.discovermyrtlecreek.com
Location: 2940 Reche Road,Fallbrook, CA 92028
The first thing you see is their beautiful historic red barn, next to it was an adorable goat run with a vintage truck full of hay in the bed, you can pay a small fee to go in and feed the goats as well, which I thought was cool!
By far my favorite thing about Myrtle Creek Botanical Gardens was the wide variety of plant potting and display styles, they had so many wonderful ideas for gardening, from large oversized hanging planters with succulents to a running creek with statues and an adorable vine formed life sized Tee-pee for kids to walk through, it’s a wealth of garden inspiration for sure!
They had many unique items for sale from plants and knick knacks to home made jam and statues…
They had a wide variety of plants for sale, roses, trees, succulents, cactus annuals and perennials as well! We ended up purchasing a total of 8 rose bushes, they were very big, high quality and already had little blooms sprouting with new leaves, the staff was extremely helpful and very nice. They helped us carry all of the plants to the car as well.
I thought this was really a really cleaver way to use old pallets for a vertical flower wall, very cute!
It was a wonderful half day trip, we left the house around 10am, they have a cafe up there that sells coffee, tea and crapes, and they have areas for picnics as well as great items to buy for gifts. It’s also a nice drive up the 15 to Fallbrook, you go past many different plant nurseries that you can stop at on the way there or back, we will for sure be coming back in the spring time when the flowers are really popping, this trip was in the winter time.
